PATTERN MAKING AND DESIGN

The course aims to equip trainees with the necessary knowledge and skill on fashion design, pattern making, garment manufacturing technique, 3-D modeling, marketing, merchandising technique, fashion knowledge and information technology etc. The feature of the course is the combination of theoretical and practical aspects in training. The graduates are provided with a broad spectrum of knowledge to work in the fashion and clothing industry or to pursue further studies for a higher qualification.

2813 Pattern Making & Design Diploma Course has been validated by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Graduates can apply for the related Higher Diploma Courses provided by The Institute of Textile & Clothing of the HK Polytechnic University (full-time day / evening courses), (Eligible for credit transfer).
Also, graduates can take the professional examination of the Advanced Diploma organized by The Hong Kong Institution of Textile and Apparel (HKITA). After passing the Advanced Diploma examination, graduates are qualified to apply for the Membership of the HKITA.
Graduates with one year experience and age is over 23 years old can apply for The Licentiateship of The Textile Institute (LTI). In Hong Kong, only the students from CITA and The HK Polytechnic University have such privilege for the Licentitateship.
